story
This bedroom was a complete overhaul, furnishing with new furniture, textiles, lighting, and accessories. When the homeowners purchased the home several years ago, they moved their old furniture right in. For most of the house it worked, but in the master suite? It didn't. The room became a spot to stash unused items and a place to avoid unless you were sleeping in it.
The clients wanted to create a space that was a retreat; a sanctuary where they could relax comfortably and in style. We mixed traditional pieces with french curves to create luxury, while adding modern accents to keep it fresh. Personal touches are used throughout the room: we updated the client's mother's vanity with paint, re-wired vintage crystal lamps that were passed down, and framed a wall of black and white family photos that span three generations. The overall atmosphere of the room is intimate, chic serenity.
