Serving the Bay Area and Northern California Wine Country, designer Sophia Cunningham is passionate about creating outdoor spaces that are as sustainable and they are useful and beautiful. Her designs are a careful blend of sustainable practices, aesthetics, and function, ensuring that each space is tailored to fit her clients unique lifestyle needs while adapting to the changing climate.
Born in Venice Beach, California, and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sophia has always been surrounded by creativity. Raised by an artist and a contractor, she was exposed to the art world at a young age and was never far from a construction site or remodeling job; the family home was often the lab used for her parents design experiments. Her world travels have led her to appreciate a variety of design styles with a particular taste for antiques, vintage, and re purposed pieces. For ten years at Haven, Sophia has combined all of her passions and experiences to create exceptional design that enhances her clients lives. She believes that a space should efficiently serve it's purpose while pleasing, inspiring, and nurturing its inhabitants and the planet, enabling them to turn their lifestyle dreams into reality. Sophia is passionate about social justice and works to support people and policies that protect human rights and the environment. Sophia currently serves on the Bay Area District Board of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee Chair, and is a member of the Good Future Design Alliance. |
